Background to Biologics Sub Group

 

In 2009 a working group was set up by the BDNG to develop a resource pack for nurses working in biologic therapy, The Biologics Pack. This had come about following numerous requests to the BDNG for information sharing regarding biologic therapy practices. However, despite this, there still appears to be an unmet need for nurses working in the field of biologic therapy for education, personal development and networking, especially in the more experienced nurses. There was also recognition that we needed a collective professional voice in the biologics sub speciality which was constantly evolving and developing. as a result the BDNG Executive Committee approached Alison Rowe and Karina Jackson to co-chair the new Biologics sub Group. Our inaugural study day was held in London in September 2009.
