Research Awards
Opportunities for funding for research and evidence based practice projects
The BDNG Scientific Committee are delighted to be able to offer BDNG Research Awards each year. The BDNG Committee has allocated funding to assist projects which develop the knowledge base of dermatological nursing. BDNG full members are eligible to apply for funding. It is allocated depending on the number of applications and the nature of the funding request.
For larger awards, applicants are encouraged to submit project proposals which reflect a multi-professional/research team approach, to ensure adequate support is provided to undertake an effective study. The smaller awards may be suitable to support appropriate individuals to undertake research based studies (MSc or PhD). Support to disseminate good practice in auditing and evaluation of dermatological practice may be considered.
In addition, we hope to continue working with the British Skin Foundation and the National Eczema Society to support joint research awards.
- Successful awards must be activated within 12 months.
- An abstract for display on the BDNG website must be submitted upon completion of all projects.
- The BDNG's support must be mentioned in any relevant papers or presentations and copies of these are to be forwarded to the BDNG Administrator.
- Successful applicants will be expected to present their project at the BDNG Scientific Meeting at the Annual Conference upon completion.
For more information on submitting your proposal, go to the How To Research section and for information on previous successful Awards, go to the Research Activity section.
