Introduction
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the British Dermatological Nursing Group Annual Conference to be held at Manchester Central from July 6th - 8th 2010. This 20th Conference leads into our 21st year and we hope that several of our founder members will attend the conference to help us celebrate our coming of age.
The goal of the Annual Conference Planning Committee is to provide educational programmes of excellent quality on a wide range of dermatology related topics. The programme has been developed to match feedback and suggestions taken from evaluations following last year's very successful conference in Glasgow. This year's conference programme will provide a wide variery of topics to include modules on policy to practice, basic and advanced dermatology, interactive cast studies and workshops. The format of the conference has changed slightly, we hope you like it.
Delegates will enhance their dermatology skills and promote professional development as they attend three days of concentrated programmes focusing on a wide variety of topics. Concurrent sessions are designed to offer variety in subject area, while making accomodation for varying learner levels and speciality focus.
Over the past 20 years, the BDNG has grown from strength to strength and the present committee would like to thank all who have been involved in helping develop the organisation. I have attended many previous conferences and always found them a valuable source of networking and highly motivating. The best ideas - common sense ideas - come from people who are in the forefront of delivering care and particularly in today's economic climate, we need to be as smart and resourceful as possible. I hope you will all enjoy the conference and we can assist you in taking back information to your clinical area which will provide an enhanced service to our dermatology patients.
